Some of our girls
Here are some recent pictures of girls from the Pregnant and Parenting Girls’ Home with their cute babies and toddlers. We currently have 16 girls and 17 babies and toddlers living at the Home. I love getting to hang out with them all! :)
Feliz Cumpleaños to Andres Adan!
Yesterday we were able to celebrate Andres Adan’s birthday. He had spent many years when he was younger living at the Boys’ Farm, and he is now living at the Home for Boys’ Farm Graduates in Medellin (Casa de Egreso). When he walked into the room where we were waiting for him, he ended up being quite touched. Tears came down his face as he shared that for many years he had spent his birthdays all by himself and it meant so much to him that we threw him a party. He is happy to be with Open Arms “family” once again as he went through some difficult years before coming to the new Home for Grads. He is doing well at the Home, is serving in the Open Arms’ Church, and has just started cutting hair again (which he is trained in) and is committed to regularly going up to the Boys’ Farm to cut the kids’ hair there. Here are some pictures from yesterday.
Samara Joy at 33 weeks
Our baby girl, Samara Joy, is now 33 weeks and 3 days along today. We are so excited to meet her in a little over a month!
Please pray for Luisa
Please pray for 15 year old Luisa. Her baby boy, Emanuel, had been born 2.5 months early in February. He was able to go home with her to the Pregnant and Parenting Girls’ Home with oxygen about a month ago. But he ended up getting really sick in the past week and had to go back to the hospital. He died yesterday. We are all very saddened, but, of course, Luisa is completely heartbroken. She held her precious boy in her arms for hours, even after he had died. Please pray that she would feel God’s great peace and comfort during this time and that the Open Arms Foundation would be able to continue to give her all the support and love she needs as she goes through this.
Please also pray for all of the other babies and toddlers at the Pregnant and Parenting Girls’ Home. Several of the kids are sick with whooping cough. All of the adults, youth, and kids are now on antibiotics, so please pray that God would use the medicine to bring healing to all who are sick and to keep the healthy ones healthy.
Thank you for standing with us in prayer!
